There is some truly amazing camping in Australia! Thanks to Australia’s consistent year-round warm weather, there really isn’t a particular time when you can’t enjoy some truly amazing camping. The smallest continent while at the same time the world’s largest “island”, Australia boasts a diverse eco-structure that makes it a favorite for camping enthusiasts everywhere.
Just close your eyes and let your imagination be your guide! Australia is still referred to as the “undiscovered country” and that may just be true. The barren vast, indomitable desert better known as the Outback is more adapt for someone outfitted with a tent and generator than a motor. While the chain of mountains known as the Great Dividing Range calls for someone with the extreme talents needed for hard living.
It’s just a matter of where your interests lie: in the Northern territory you can discover national parks, virgin wilderness, the lush rainforests of northern Queensland and the tropical city of Darwin. In the South you have shimmering sandy beaches coupled with a long blue horizon that never seems to end. There’s desert wilderness to explore that yearns only for a tent and inverter generator.
Thanks to Australia being surrounded by water, the continent has plenty of coastlines to explore. A sandy expanse that no postcard or photograph could ever pay homage to, while in the West you’ve got Middle Lagoon and Coronation Beach to name just a few popular locals.
If that’s not a whirlwind example of amazing camping in Australia, I don’t know what is. And although an extreme environment is certainly there for those who seek it out, Australia’s vast landscape also offers a camping infrastructure that makes weekend or extended outings hospitable if not down right comfortable!
It doesn’t matter if you’re armed with only a tent and generator or if your creature comforts depend on something a little bigger like a motor home. Australia offers a variety of locations for every taste and sense of adventure. Whether you enjoy snorkeling or hiking, parasailing or white-water rafting you can find some amazing camping in Australia, truly one of the most beautiful continents in the world.
In the desert or on a lonely mountain peak. So vast often the only sound to be heard is the beat of your own heart. On a sandy beach or a lush forest. There’s amazing camping in Australia. So incredible, so challenging. Once the continent has you n its grip, you’ll never want to leave.
