Meeting singles in the Ocean

Going on a cruise by yourself sounds like a very scary option to take. There’s the obvious price issue, since cruise liners usually increase the price if you’re traveling alone. But there’s also the companionship issue: people usually cruise in pairs or in groups, and there’s the myth that it’s very hard to meet people while on a cruise.
It’s true that some cruises have a “singles’ night” or an assortment of singles events, but that’s still a little scary to take part of. Fortunately, many cruise companies have realized that this is a market that they can explore and have now started to include singles cruises in their array of options. Some have even gotten more specific and turned to things like single parent cruise and gender-specific cruises, like gay and lesbian cruises.
Of course, there are still some eyebrows raised when it comes to these kinds of cruising. It’s natural to assume that some people are there more for the physical aspect of relationship building rather than to have fun and meet people. But with so many people in the ship, it’s hard not to find someone who will share the same interests as you and have fun with you.
