Avoid Pre-Holiday Problems With Careful Planning

We have all been in a situation where we have failed to get the right preparations done in time for something and as a result have either forgotten something or have done something that you shouldn’t have and that is one of the biggest things that seems to affect holiday makers, where ever they’re from.
The key to being able to travel stress free is to ensure that you take the time to really think about what needs to be done and that needs to be avoided while you are beginning your pre-holiday build up, so here are a few things that you might want to think about in order to make your holiday a little smoother:
Book your holiday with plenty of time to spare
Although the older method of getting cheaper holidays seemed to be centred around booking your holiday at the last minute, there are some alterations that now mean that the early worm really does catch the worm, especially when you are booking the holiday in parts rather than as a package deal.
Last minute holidays seem to be more about filling the requirements of the contracts between holiday operators and the hotels that you can stay in than careful selection for those of you that could be looking to help fill those positions, so to ensure that you are getting the holiday experience that you want so badly sooner than if you were to advance book, there is a higher chance that you will encounter issues before or during your trip.
Plan your luggage allowance in your head at the time of booking
So many holiday makers are caught out when it comes to checking in their luggage when they arrive at the airport as they have often overfilled their suitcases with clothes that are unlikely to even be pulled out of the bag for the duration of the holiday.
If you think that you are likely to need a bigger luggage allowance, add the additional weight onto your booking (many companies offer this ability through an online service) before you travel as failing to do so would result in much higher pricing when you get to the counter.
Don’t think that you can win the assistants over with your wit and glamour, the fact is that if you bag is higher than the allowance that you have on your booking when you arrive at the check in desk, you are paying additional fees or wearing nine layers of clothing to travel in!
Plan what you will do in the airport between check in and travel
Some of the hardest money to part with is that which you will have to pay out in the airport following check in, that is unless you have prepared yourself with a few easy additions to what you take with you.
Most money that is spent before you board the plan is spent in the Duty Free stores that the airport offers as this is the first thing that you have to walk through in many of them, but there are also inflated prices waiting for you just around the corner, with one airport in the UK (I won’t name it) charging as much as £7.50 for a coffee and a pastry.
Plan your wait time carefully, so if you are travelling around 12 noon then you have to be thinking about the chances of needing something to eat so that you can take something with you while if you are travelling with children, taking handheld music players or games consoles will eliminate the need for those costly arcade games that children love so much. Mobile phones are also great for this money saving tip as you can access free games online such as the Angry Birds game which tends to be an application already loaded on many phones thanks to the 700 million downloads that they have had over the past 12 months.
